This little love story starts the summer of 2005. Elav was living in Spring Valley for the summer while working in River Falls on a construction site that was to be an addition to my dad’s new office building for Designer Doors. I had just moved back from Chicago and was living in St. Paul with Karisa Mueller while working in River Falls at the [then] current office building for Designer Doors. The one time I went to one of the weekly volleyball games we met briefly, but nothing came of this meeting.

A few weeks later, though, I had a doctor appointment in River Falls a few hours after work so I went to my parent’s house to wait. My parents had invited the house of boys that Elav lived with for dinner that night so after my doctor appointment I decided to return to the house and we hung out and played ping pong for the remainder of the night. That was Tuesday 21 June.

The next night I happened to drive by the new construction site, which was only about a block away from the office building I was working in, and Elav happened to be finishing up work on the front of the site and he noticed my car (which is really why we started dating in the first place. :) ) and I ended up stopping to say ‘hi,’ one thing led to another and many, many hours later we found ourselves still finding things to talk about.

The next day Elav called me at work and I’m actually not sure why, but he ended up helping me move into my apartment in St. Paul (I was living there, but not moved in for about 3 weeks prior to this move-in date). We went on our first date afterwards to a Thai restaurant a few blocks away from my apartment.

After this day, we hung out nearly every day at lunch (Subway) and nearly every night after work. If we weren’t hanging out, we were talking on the phone or planning on getting together to hang out. A few weeks later, on 12 July 2005, after driving back from Emo Convention, we decided we were “official.” In August we made our first purchase together, a large grey-ish cooler, and used it on our road trip to Washington state for Olympia Convention.

Our summer came to an end when Elav moved back to Manitowoc, WI where he was going to school and living with his family and I moved to Inver Grove Heights to continue going to school. But our relationship did not end. :) Four months later during Christmas break, I moved to Green Bay, WI to be closer to Manitowoc (read: Elav).

About six months after living in Green Bay, I moved to a cute little apartment in River Falls, WI (which is the city where my parents live) and Elav (and the rest of his family) joined his dad in Rockford, IL. I started going to school at the University of Wisconsin in River Falls and working part time at the Whole Earth Grocery; Elav started going to school at Rock Valley Community College and working full time at the Rockford airport.

And that brings us up to the present time. We are pretty much really excited to get married, but we have some schooling to finish up. I’m graduating in May 2008 and Elav is finishing up his program at the end of July. So, we are planning our wedding.
